Marshall Hollis Selected for Silver Buffalo Award

·         The Yocona Area Council would like to congratulate Marshall Hollis for being selected as a recipient of the 2011 Silver Buffalo award!

The Silver Buffalo Award for distinguished service to youth is awarded to those persons who give noteworthy and extraordinary service to youth. This award is Scouting's highest commendation of the invaluable contributions that outstanding Americans make to youth. The service must be national in scope and can be independent of, or directly through, the Boy Scouts of America.

·         Marshall’s extensive Scouting background includes serving as a National Council Representative, BSA International Committee Member, National NESA Committee Member, Regional Executive Board Member, Council Board Member,  Wood Badge Scoutmaster, Powderhorn Director, Sea Badge Director, and OA Lodge Advisor.   His numerous Scouting Honors include Silver Antelope, International Award, Regional Venturing Leadership Award, Silver Beaver, District Award of Merit, OA Vigil Member, and Eagle Scout.

·        Marshall has been heavily involved in international Scouting by using his pharmaceutical knowledge to help as staff on the World Jamborees in Chile 1999, Thailand 2003, England 2007, and Sweden 2011.  Marshall has received accolades and Baden Powell Fellowships- Sweden, England, USA, Switzerland, Italy and Austria.

The Silver Buffalo will be presented at the National Council Recognition Dinner at the National Annual Meeting in San Diego.
