1997 Service Flap (S-33)

1997 Service Flap

The 1997 service flap, designated the S-33, is the third of the service flaps and was given to those earning it during the 1997 year. The "Dancing Turtle" was designed by Jimmy Avent of Oxford for a jacket patch. The lodge members liked the design so much they wanted the "Dancing Turtle" encorperated in other patches. The service flaps were presented at the annual banquet which was held on January 24 in Tupelo. There were XX lodge members who received the service flaps. They were given two flaps, one to save and one to wear, even though, there are not too many being worn on people's uniforms. There were also three put into the lodge lock box for the lodge collection. This made a total of XX flaps that are in existance. The flap was designed by Nickey Johnston of Corinth.
